Manila, March 10 -- Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon on Monday said a five-minute power interruption at the terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is unacceptable, calling for a prompt solution to prevent similar incidents.

"Five minutes is too long, unacceptable. Generator should kick in within a minute," he said in a press conference.

Dizon was referring to the power outage in all three NAIA terminals Sunday -- Terminal 1 at 7:40 a.m. (resumed 7:45 a.m.), Terminal 2 at 7:24 a.m. (resumed 7:48 a.m.) and Terminal 3 at 8 a.m. (resumed 8:01 a.m.).

He, however, thanked the operator, the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) for coming up with a long-term solution.
