India, March 14 -- The Odisha government has plans to construct a world-class road network in the State in five years. Accordingly, a total of 15,000 kilometres of 'state-of-the-art' roads are to be constructed, official sources said on Friday.

Besides, the Works Department has also planned to construct different types of roads including State Highways (SHs) - 4,112 Km, Major District Roads (MDR) - 2,632 Km, and Other District Roads (ODR) - 22,866 Km, totaling to - 29,610 Km.

In addition, the Department has chalked out the details for construction and maintenance of 5,753 Km. of National Highways (NHs).
