Bhubaneswar, Jan. 20 -- Continuing the intense chill and cold that set in at the start of the New Year, as many as five places in Odisha recorded temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius with the lowest of 4 degrees and 4.5 degrees Celsius gripping G. Udayagiri of Kandhamal and Semiliguda of Koraput districts, respectively, on Sunday night.
A weather report shared by the Bhubaneswar Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that five other major settlements either slipped below or hovered at 10 degrees Celsius. Among them, Phulbani witnessed the lowest minimum temperature of 7 degrees Celsius. Rourkela (7.2), Jharsuguda (7.7), and Daringbadi (9) followed thereafter.
