The Odisha Cabinet approved the proposal of amalgamation of MAMATA scheme with ambitious Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) to bolster maternal welfare, on Wednesday. This merger will see expectant mothers' benefits increase from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 prior to the birth of a girl child, thanks to the unified Mamata-PMMVY initiative.
Anganwadi workers, who are integral to the success of these welfare schemes, will now receive enhanced incentives. The incentive for these workers has been raised from Rs 200 to Rs 250, while helpers will see an increase from Rs 100 to Rs 150.
