The Odisha government increased the one-time cessation benefit for temporary employees from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh on Thursday. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi approved this enhancement, offering better financial support ahead of Rath Yatra festivities.

According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) sources, previously, temporary employees were entitled to a one-time cessation benefit of Rs 1.5 lakh when their services were terminated. However, the Chief Minister Majhi has approved an increase in this amount to Rs 2.5 lakh, with a straight hike of Rs 1 lakh.
