GUWAHATI, April 12 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended an armed member of the Naxal organization People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) after conducting raids in Jharkhand and Assam, an official statement issued on Thursday (April 11) stated.

NIA teams, aided by local police, conducted raids and searches on Wednesday (April 10) at two sites in both Jharkhand and Assam.

As a result of the operation, Binod Munda, also known as Sukkhwa, was apprehended from Khunti district in Jharkhand.

The individual in question is a member of the PLFI, a breakaway faction of the Naxal movement, and is wanted in connection with four PLFI cases in Jharkhand.
