New Delhi, June 22 -- Demonstrations have broken out in Columbian cities of in Bogota and Medellin against alleged corruption in COVID-19 relief measures. Protests began peacefully, but quickly turned violent in Bogota city centre and public transport was damaged.
Further demonstrations are likely to continue over the coming week in Bogota and Medellin and could extend to other cities, with a risk of vandalism of public and commercial establishments. Violence cannot be ruled out.
