New Delhi, July 26 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu jointly inaugurated the new state-of-the-art Ministry of Defence (MoD) building in Male on July 25, 2025. Overlooking the Indian Ocean, the eleven-storey structure stands as a symbol of the long-standing and deepening defence and security cooperation between the two countries.

The building has been constructed with financial assistance from India and is expected to significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the Maldivian defence and law enforcement agencies.
