New Delhi, July 2 -- In a major jolt to GVK Group of Companies and Airport Authority of India (AAI), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has lodged a case against G. Venkata Krishna Reddy, the Chairman of GVK group and some officials of AAI. The move came on Wednesday, July 1, over alleged siphoning off Rs. 800 crore in the name of development of Mumbai International Airport.

Reddy's son GV Sanjay Reddy, who is the managing director of the Mumbai airport, and nine other private companies and unidentified officials of the AAI have also been book in the case for criminal conspiracy, cheating under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
