New Delhi, April 9 -- Brent Neiman, a leading economist and professor at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business, has unexpectedly found himself at the heart of a political and economic firestorm surrounding President Donald Trump's aggressive tariff policy. The controversy began when the Trump administration cited a 2021 academic paper Neiman co-authored as the basis for its sweeping new tariffs-tariffs that Neiman says were grossly miscalculated.
