New Delhi, Sept. 21 -- Only a few hours are left for the September 21 partial solar eclipse. Excited skygazers await the celestial phenomenon, which is the last solar eclipse of this year.
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun. Depending on alignment, eclipses may be total, annular, hybrid, or partial.
During the September 2025 solar ec, the Moon's shadow will not fully cover the Sun. Observers in the penumbra-the lighter part of the shadow-will see the Sun appearing as if a "bite" has been taken out of it, creating the partial eclipse effect.
The eclipse will not be visible in India as it takes place after sunset, when it is already dark.
