Afghanistan, March 8 -- On International Women's Day, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) called on the Taliban to lift restrictions that deprive women and girls of their fundamental rights.

In a statement, UNAMA highlighted that Afghan women and girls are systematically denied their rights in education, work, and social life, which has led to widespread inequality.

The organization emphasized that these restrictions are not only a violation of human rights but also hinder Afghanistan's progress and contribute to the growing poverty and isolation of millions.
