Afghanistan, Aug. 13 -- Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States Asad Majeed Khan has said the issue in Kashmir could affect the Afghan peace talks.

Speaking during an interview with the editorial of New York Times, Ambassador Khan said the redeployment of troops from the bordering regions with Afghanistan to Kashmir frontier could complicate peace talks with the Taliban.

However, he said Kashmir and Afghanistan issues were separate emphasizing that he was not attempting to link them.

Ambassador Khan further added that Pakistan hoped the American talks with the Taliban would succeed.

He also added that Islamabad is doing all it can and will continue support the Afghan peace talks.
