Baramulla, Feb. 13 -- The Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla on Friday urged parents to play a proactive role in ensuring road safety, particularly by not allowing minors to drive vehicles, citing the rising risk of road accidents.

Speaking to the news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) on the sidelines of a Road Safety Awareness programme organised by the Chief Education Office in the district, the DC said parents must refrain from giving two-wheelers or other vehicles to underage children and ensure that basic traffic norms are strictly followed. He emphasised that wearing helmets and seat belts should become a daily habit to reduce fatalities.
