Srinagar, Dec. 5 -- IGP Kashmir V. K. Birdi chaired a review meeting on ongoing monitoring of under-trial cases with district SSsP, Law officers and Pairvi officers of Kashmir at PCR here today, a police spokesperson informed.

He said during the meeting, district SSsP then gave presentations on their progress in case disposal and follow-up, especially in ensuring convictions in under-trial and under-investigation cases. The discussions covered general crime matters, with a special focus on NDPS and UAPA cases, absconders and other offenses. The status of preventive actions and pending inquest proceedings was also reviewed.
