Srinagar, Jan. 6 -- Police have arrested six drug peddlers in separate incidents in Pulwama, Sopore, Srinagar and Kulgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession, police said in an official handout Sunday.

It said at Muchpona Pulwama, one Ishfaq Majeed Wani, son of Abdul Majeed Wani of Pulwama was arrested and 18.70 grams of heroin were recovered from his possession.

In Sopore, at Laiser Crossing, police intercepted a vehicle (JK05M-4854) driven by Muneeb Jabar Dar, son of Abdul Jabar Dar of Muqam Shaheedmir Bomai Sopore. Upon searching the vehicle, police recovered 1.028 kilograms of a substance resembling cannabis. Dar was arrested on the spot and the vehicle seized.
