Kolkata/IBNS, June 23 -- A teenage girl died in a bomb blast in West Bengal's Nadia district during the vote counting which was underway in the Kaliganj assembly constituency, media reports said.

As per unconfirmed reports, Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters celebrated the party's win by throwing a crude bomb at a CPI-M supporter's house.

One of the bombs exploded near nine-year-old girl Tamanna Khatun. She died of her injuries.

Reacting to the incident, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has asked police to take "action" against the culprits.

TMC's Alifa Ahmed defeated BJP's Ashish Ghosh by around 50,000 votes in the Kaliganj byelection.

The voting took place on June 19.
