New Delhi/IBNS, Feb. 12 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey has filed a substantive motion seeking the termination of Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's membership, according to media reports.

Dubey has reportedly demanded that the Congress leader be barred from contesting elections for life.

The move comes a day after Gandhi launched a sharp attack on the Modi government over the recently finalised India-US trade agreement and the Union Budget in Parliament.

After days of parliamentary deadlock, Gandhi on Wednesday criticised the Centre over the India-US trade pact, accusing the government of compromising national interests and harming farmers' livelihoods.
