Govt Allocates INR 640 Cr To Power 46K Villages In Bihar With Fiber Internet Services
India, Sept. 21 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday (September 21), inaugurated optical fibre internet services in Bihar via video-conferencing. Under this initiative, all 45,945 villages of Bihar will be connected through optical fibre internet service by the end of March 2021. The government of India has allocated INR 640 Cr for this scheme.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) described the fibre internet services programme as a "prestigious project" covering all the villages in the states. It believes that the initiative will push the "digital revolution" to reach the state's remotest corner.
