Manipur, Aug. 17 -- The 73rd Independence Day of India was held on August 15 at Mini Secretariat Complex, Thoubal, organised by the District Administration.

In his address as chief guest of the occasion, Education minister, Thokchom Radheshyam asserted that the "Independence" obtained by the citizens of the country is only an outwards show as the citizens are reeling from "imprisonment" from various problems such as poverty and unemployment amongst others.
