Durga Puja, also popularly known as Durgotsav, Sharadotsav and Navaratri is an annual Hindu festival. It is observed during the Hindu calendar month of Ashwin, typically September or October of the Gregorian calendar. Held over several days, the festival is celebrated with elaborate temple and stage decorations (pandals), scripture recitation, performance arts, revelry and processions.
