PATNA, Jan. 24 -- A youth died while his parents were injured after a police vehicle knocked them down in Majorganj police station area on Friday. A large crowd gathered at the scene while local people blocked Sainik Road. Angry villagers protested against the incident by burning tyres on the road, disrupting vehicular traffic for hours. After police and SSB personnel reached the spot, they calmed the angry crowd. A long traffic jam occurred on the road. Police removed the Dial 112 emergency vehicle, which was carrying cops, from the road to restore traffic flow. Police said all three were crossing the main road when the incident took place. The deceased has been identified as Sushil Kumar. The body has been sent to Sadar hospital for postmortem. Sushil's father Rampukar Mahto and his wife are undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The condition of both of them is stated to be stable. Sadar SDO and SDPO arrived at the spot and enquired about the incident.
