PATNA, Feb. 3 -- The state government had recommended departmental proceedings against a 2004-batch officer of Indian Revenue Service (IRS) Anupam Kumar Suman in regard to Patna waterlogging in September last year, but fate of the disciplinary action rests on the approval of the Central government.

In light of the report by a high-level inquiry committee headed by development commissioner Arun Kumar Singh, the general administrative department (GAD) has decided to initiate departmental proceedings against Suman, who was the commissioner of Patna municipal Corporation (PMC), and Amarendra Prasad Singh, a 2007-batch IAS officer and then managing director of Bihar urban infrastructure development corporation (Buidco), for their lapses.
