BETTIAH, Jan. 23 -- Laukaria police on Thursday recovered two skeletons from the Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR), suspected to be of a 14-year-old girl and her 20-year-old girlfriend who had eloped in September last year, in Bihar's West Champaran district, police said. Sharing the information, Raman Kumar, station house officer (SHO) Laukaria police in Bagaha police district said that the skeletons were found strewn at Rampur Mushhari Tola in Madanpur forest range of VTR on Thursday. "Family members of the deceased have identified the mortal remains on the basis of their clothes and other belongings. However, we will reach any conclusion only after the DNA and forensic test reports arrive," the station house officer said. The matter came to the fore after some villagers spotted the skeletons lying at a place surrounded by thick vegetation and informed the police. "The matter is being probed from all angles, including murder (hate killing) and suicide or something else," said Ragni Kumari, sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Ramnagar, who has jurisdiction over the area.
