PATNA, May 12 -- A prompt police response in Madhepura on Monday led to the rescue of two abducted persons and the arrest of two persons involved in the crime. The accused were identified as Jyotish Kumar Yadav and Sonu Kumar Yadav, the police said. According to Madhepura SP Sandeep Kumar Singh Jyotish and Sonu were accused of abducting Manohar Mehta and brother-in-law Karan Kumar from Madhepura College Chowk on May 9. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs.50,000 for their release. On receiving the complaints of abduction Madhepua SP constituted a special team for crack the case. The police laid a trap and called the kidnapper for paid ransom. Jyotish Kumar, who came to collect the ransom money at City Cart Mall, was caught and on his trail, the second kidnapper Sonu Kumar was also arrested and both the kidnapped were freed. The accused confessed to their involvement in the crime during interrogation by police. An FIR has been lodged with Bharrahi police station on the basis of the statement of Manohar's father Ramdutt Mehta, a resident of Madanpur village. In the FIR he said that his son Manohar and son-in-law Karan Kumar had gone to the medical college to get medicines and collect reports. On their way back, the two were abducted near College Chowk. Sonu Kumar had gone to jail in the past also in a liquor and robbery case. Three cases have been registered against him. Two of the cases were registered in Madhepura district and one in Kishanganj district....
