Terror suspect from Katihar held in Delhi on intel inputs
KATIHAR, April 19 -- A 23-year-old terror suspect from Katihar was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell in collaboration with Bihar Police. The arrest was made on Saturday morning in Delhi based on intelligence inputs provided by the Katihar police, officials said.
Confirming the arrest of Mohammad Sohail, a resident of Nawabganj under Manihari police station, Superintendent of Police (SP) Shikhar Choudhary told HT over the phone that a few days ago Katihar police had conducted a raid at the suspect's residence and seized a mobile phone. "Later, the mobile phone was handed over to Delhi Police for further investigation," the SP said, adding that the suspect has been living away from his native place for a long time.
The SP said district police have been in constant touch with Delhi Police and further investigation is underway. He did not rule out the possibility of local sympathisers of the arrested suspect. "We will probe in tandem with the Special Cell of Delhi Police, and a few arrests are likely in the coming days," he said. Sohail is one of four suspects allegedly involved in a plot to carry out IED attacks on behalf of an extremist module working towards 'Ghazwa-e-Hind'....
