Teenagers found hanging from a tree in West Champaran
BETTIAH, March 8 -- A 17-year-old girl and her 19-year-old male co-villager, who had left their home on Friday late evening, were found dead after hanging from a tree in a village in Bihar's West Champaran district on Saturday, police said, adding that "hate killing" or suicide is being probed.
Sharing the information, Sikta's station house officer (SHO) Nitish Kumar Maurya said that the bodies were found hanging from a mango tree at Sirisiya village, barely 200 meters away from their house, under his police station area on Saturday morning.
"During the investigation, police found that the duo belonged to the same community and living in the neighbourhood of one another," the station house officer said.
Police said the family members of duos found traceless after they woke up for sehri during the ongoing month of Ramadan at Sirisiya village which falls under the Narkatiaganj block of West Champaran.
Later in the morning, the deceased boy's father spotted the bodies hanging from a tree at a place surrounded by thick vegetation and informed the police.
"The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. The FSL team has been involved in the investigation. The matter is being probed from all angles, including murder (hate killing) and suicide," Jai Prakash Singh, sub divisional police officer (SDPO), Narkatiaganj....
