New Delhi, April 30 -- The BJP has named Surya Kumar Sharma as its candidate for Bihar Legislative Council bypoll scheduled for May 12. Sharma's candidature for the by-election has been approved by the party's central election committee, BJP national general secretary Arun Singh said in a notification Tuesday. According to Election Commission, the last date for filing of nomination is April 30 and the deadline for withdrawal of nomination is May 4.
