PATNA, Jan. 29 -- Saran police arrested a sub-inspector posted in Muzaffarpur in connection with murder and disposing of the body of a newly wed woman. The victim was identified as Sarita Prakash alias Subu, who was murdered and her body thrown at her father's house located at Hariharnath police station area in Saran district. Sarita's father had registered an FIR on January 19 against five persons including Satyendra Kumar (husband), his brother Jitan Singh and his wife Reena Devi, all residents of Kartaha village in Vaishali district. In the FIR, victim's father alleged that Sarita was constantly being tortured for dowry since marriage and due to this torture, she was killed by strangulation. Sarita's body was brought to her native place in a black Scorpio SUV around 12:38 am on January 16. A CCTV footage shows that a person got down and put the body in front of her father's house on the roadside and fled. Family members hinted that a police sticker was pasted on the Scorpio, which raised suspicion. During investigation police found that the SUV was in the name of SI Santosh Kumar Razak, which was used by deceased's husband Satyendra Kumar. Saran police claimed that many important evidences had been found during investigation. The arrested SI has been sent to judicial custody after interrogation. "Satyendra is currently absconding. Raids are being conducted to arrest him," said Saran SP Vineet Kumar adding that the role of other accused involved in the case was also being probed....
