BETTIAH, Jan. 14 -- The Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) on Tuesday arrested a revenue officer from the Barauli circle office in Gopalganj district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.6,000, officials said. According to Vigilance Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Arunoday Pandey, the officer was identified as Vijay Kumar Singh. He allegedly demanded the bribe to facilitate the mutation of a plot of land in Gopa. The complainant, Shailendra Sah, had approached the VIB, alleging that the revenue employee sought a bribe for the favour. After verifying the complaint, a team from VIB Patna laid a trap and arrested Singh red-handed with the bribe money in his possession. The arrested official is being quizzed, said an official....
