PATNA, Jan. 30 -- In a bid to check high interference of police machinery in land dispute cases, the revenue and land reforms department has issued fresh guidelines under which the police force have been given instruction to keep its role limited in maintaining law incases of disputes over property. The police officials would not be engaged in getting any party possession or construction of the boundary of a land without a formal order from concerned authorities. A press statement said a detailed order had been issued by ACS, home Arvind Chaudhary and principal secretary, revenue, CK Anil in this regard. The directives would come into effect from February 1st as per a statement issued by the department on Thursday. Further, the press statement said the SHOs of police stations would have to make an entry about land dispute cases once they receive it in the station diary. The case details of the dispute have to be logged in with the names of rival parties, nature of dispute , details of land etc, following which the matter has to be informed to the concerned circle officer. The new order has mentioned that COs and SHOs along with other officials would hold weekly meetings for disposal of land dispute complaints and put their status in the official portal....
