Power plaints to be resolved in 72 hours
PATNA, April 16 -- In a major consumer-focused initiative, the state energy department has announced that most of the electricity-related complaints registered at special camps held every Monday and Friday in April will be resolved within a fixed timeline of 72 hours, said a communique issued by the department on Wednesday.
The camps, being organised at all electrical engineer offices across the state from 11.00am to 2.00pm, aim to provide a fast, transparent and hassle-free mechanism for addressing a wide range of power-related issues. Officials said several complaints would be resolved on the spot to ensure immediate relief to consumers.
Key issues to be taken up on priority include electricity bill corrections, new connection requests, low voltage problems, transformer faults, and concerns related to leaning poles and loose wires. Complaints regarding smart prepaid meters, name corrections, and applications for agricultural connections will also be addressed during the camps.
In addition, consumers will be provided information about the PM Suryaghar Yojana, along with facilities for on-the-spot payment of pending electricity bills.
The department said the initiative is designed to ensure quicker grievance redressal and improve service delivery by bringing officials and consumers onto a single platform. Consumers have been urged to attend the camps with relevant documents to enable prompt registration and resolution. HTC...
