AURANGABAD, Feb. 6 -- Police have cracked the murder case of a businessman, arresting four accused, including the main shooter, and recovering firearms and a large quantity of ammunition, officials said on Thursday. Medical shop owner Mohammad Junaid Alam (40), a resident of Nawadih locality, was shot repeatedly by two bike-borne assailants around 11 pm on January 30 after he stepped out to a nearby betel shop after closing his store. The family lodged an FIR naming seven accused and some unidentified persons, linking the incident to an ongoing land dispute. Four months earlier, Alam's cousin Minhaz alias Bullet was shot and critically injured at the same location. Three accused were jailed, but one, Maddy, recently secured bail and allegedly hired shooters after the family refused a compromise, Alam's elder brother Mohd Rashid said. Using CCTV footage and ground intelligence, police arrested Mohammed Danish Alam, Mohammed Ragib and Farhan Khan.
