SP Harvinder Singh said the district had witnessed a sudden rise in such thefts and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted under the leadership of the Police Headquarters to ensure quick detection and prevention. "In the past few days, incidents of battery theft from parked vehicles and totos were reported from various locations. The SIT acted on human and technical inputs and successfully detected these cases," the SP said.
