KATIHAR, Jan. 9 -- A licensed pistol deposited at the police station in Bihar's Katihar during last year's assembly elections went missing mysteriously, officials said According to the press release issued by the Katihar police on January 6, Chandrashekhas Singh of Katihar town area under additional town police station had deposited his licensed pistol at the police station on November 1 last year as per directive issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI), but much to the embarrassment of the police, it went missing from the storehouse in the police station. Superintendent of Police (SP) Shikhar Chaudhary talking to HT over phone on Thursday said, "An FIR has been lodged against two police officials for their negligence and against unidentified persons in connection with the mysterious disappearance of the pistol from the police station. He said, "The investigation is underway and soon police will reach the culprits and recover the lost pistol."...
