NEET aspirant death case: Fresh complaint against senior police officers
PATNA, March 3 -- A fresh complaint was filed on Monday against top senior police officials and others before the special Pocso court, Patna, in connection with the mysterious death of the NEET aspirant girl who died on January 11 after suspected sexual assault in a private Patna hostel.
The special court also issued a show cause notice to Beur jail superintendent as to why he did not produce the accused in the court .
The court heard the bail plea of Manish Ranjan, an accused and owner of the private Shambhu Girls Hostel, where the girl was allegedly sexually assaulted, leading her to death later in a private hospital in Patna.
Suresh Prasad Singh, special Public Prosecutor of the court, said, "A fresh complaint was lodged by the victim's against all senior police officers, including ASP, SSP and even DGP, doctors and others in this connection. Arguments on Manish Ranjan's bail petition lasted for around two hours from both sides," he added.
The special PP said, "The SIT DSP Anu Kumari told the police that the case was handed over to the CBI as there is no need of SIT for Manish Ranjan. On the other hand, the CBI also told the court that the agency has no need for Manish Ranjan. The special court also issued a show cause notice to Beur jail superintendent as to why he did not produce the accused before the court so far since he was arrested in this case. The next date was a hearing on March 11," he added....
