PATNA, Feb. 4 -- The NDA leaders in Bihar hailed the budget for the financial year 2026-27 presented on Tuesday in the Bihar Legislative Assembly by finance minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav. Lauding the budget, chief minister Nitish Kumar said that this budget fulfils the resolve for a developed Bihar. "Based on the principle of development with justice, this budget takes care of all sectors and all sections of society, including farmers, entrepreneurs, youth, and women. This is a comprehensive, inclusive, and development-oriented budget," said Kumar. Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary said that the Budget 2026-27 fulfills the hopes and aspirations of every citizen and presents a clear roadmap for a developed Bihar. The deputy chief minister said that during the tenure of the NDA government, Bihar's budget has continuously become larger and more inclusive. The Opposition RJD called the Bihar budget a mere formality on paper. The industries and trade bodies also welcomed the state budget. Bakshi Amit Kumar Sinha, faculty, Bihar Institute of Public Finance and Policy (BIPFP), said that the state budget is centered on the "Seven Commitments - Part 3" of the newly constituted NDA government. The Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries also welcomed the budget stating that it will give a boost to the all-round development of the state.
