BETTIAH, Jan. 29 -- A three-year-old male tiger allegedly died after coming into contact with a live electric wire illegally laid by a farmer to protect his wheat crop on the fringe of forested areas of the Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) in Bihar's West Champaran district, officials said on Wednesday. VTR's conservator and field director Dr Nesamani K said the carcass of the tiger was found in a field at Purainiya village under Manpur forest area of Valmiki Tiger Reserve during the routine checkup of the area by the forest staffers on Wednesday morning.
