PATNA, June 20 -- Kartikeya Sharma, 2014 batch IPS officer on Thursday took charge as Patna senior superintendent of police (SSP) replacing Awakash Kumar, a 2012 batch IPS officer, who was transferred to BMP-1, Patna on June 13. Soon after assuming charge, Sharma said his priority would be to boost people's confidence in the police. "Policing is challenging everywhere. We have three duties, first to maintain the law and order, second to prevent crime and third to investigate the crime. My priority will also be to prevent the crime," he added. He said police and people were one. "Both should work in better coordination. People should come fearlessly with the police and police will be appealed to reach out to people," he said....
