Former J'khand MLA gets SC bail in murder case after 8 years
Dhanbad, Aug. 9 -- The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to former Jharia BJP MLA Sanjeev Singh, who has been in judicial custody for over eight years in connection with the murder of his cousin and former Dhanbad deputy mayor Niraj Singh and three others.
According to people familiar with the case, a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai, and comprising justices Vinod Chandran and NB Anjaria, ordered Singh's release following arguments presented by senior advocate Siddharth Dave on behalf of the petitioner.
Sanjeev Singh has been in jail since April 11, 2017. Jharkhand high court had rejected his bail pleas thrice....
