CNLU to launch M.Sc in cyber security & digital forensics
PATNA, May 1 -- The Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) will launch an M.Sc. programme in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics (CSDF) from the 2026-28 academic session to cater to the growing need for professionals in this rapidly evolving field, its vice-chancellor Faizan Mustafa said.
Mustafa said that it would be a two-year postgraduate program, open for graduates from all fields, designed to equip students with advanced skills in protecting digital assets and investigating cybercrimes. There would be 60 seats for the course and intake would be on merit on the basis of offline multiple-choice screening test (June 13) and interview (June 13,14) worth 100 marks.
"It would also be immensely useful for the police and training programmes would be planned for them, as cyber security has emerged as an important component of the security set up and the cases requiring meticulous handling from stage 1 and advanced expertise to resolve complex issues. We have developed a state-of-the-art centre for it," said the VC.
Mustafa said that the multi-disciplinary programme, covering cyber laws, computer hardware and networking, cyber security and policy, AI frameworks, Open Source intelligence, Network Security & Forensics etc., would prepare graduates for over 21 important career roles in vital spheres - industry, judiciary and legal system, law enforcement & national security and Policy & governance.
"We have signed memoranda of understanding (MoU) with leading national and international organisations, including Cyber Security Centre of Excellence (CCoE), Data Security Council of India (DSCI), Bihar Police, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Bihar Institute of Correctional Administration and others. The students may exit after one year with Advanced Diploma in CSDF," he said, adding it would prepare students for emerging challenges....
