Ranchi, Feb. 19 -- In the "hit and run" and dragging incident in the Jharkhand capital on Tuesday involving Jharkhand HC advocate Manoj Tandon, two cross-complaints were filed by the parties involved at Doranda police station. First FIR was registered on the written complaint of Mawaz Khan (24), of Nizamnagar, under Hindpiri police station. Advocate Tandon is named in the FIR while six are unnamed. Complainant Mawaz is the same whose video on the bonnet of the advocate's vehicle went viral on Tuesday. According to the FIR when Mawaz was returning to Hindpiri after dropping his younger brother Adnan at the matriculation examination centre in Hinoo, Doranda, the advocate's car hit his bike and fled. The collision damaged his bike's brakes. When he stopped the car near Rajendra Chowk, the advocate tried to escape, claiming he had to go to the high court, and gave his number. When traffic police asked him to park the car by the roadside, he suddenly accelerated causing him to be pinned to the bonnet of the car. The second FIR was registered on the complaint of advocate Tandon (54), a resident of Vasundhara Apartment, Tripathi Colony in Doranda against Khan and 20-25 other unknown persons. According to the FIR, when the advocate was going by car around 10 AM, a motorcycle rider hit his car at Rajendra Chowk. After the collision, the youth started demanding money from him. When the advocate told him that he had a case pending in court and it was not his fault, the youth climbed onto the bonnet of his car and started instructing people to beat him, gathering them. "Both parties had given complaints, and we had reached a compromise before we left the police station. Now, only the police can tell why they converted the complaints into FIRs. I will pursue further as per the law," advocate Tandon said. Officer-in-charge of Doranda police station, Deepika Prasad, said the FIRs were registered because none of the parties provided anything in writing regarding a compromise....
