Ranchi, Feb. 13 -- A bomb detection and disposal squad was deputed at district collectorate on Thursday after an anonymous bomb threat was received via e-mail targeting the collectorate building at Kutchery in the heart of the city. A police official close to the matter said after four hours search nothing suspicious was found. "Bomb threat prompted an immediate high-alert status, with police cordoning off the building to conduct a thorough search operation. Around 11.30am a bomb disposal squad, assisted by sniffer dogs, was deployed to scan the premises at Kutchery chowk. After four hours of scanning nothing suspicious was found," he said. Ranchi SSP Rakesh Ranjan could not be contacted for his comment. An officer at his office said the Cyber Cell had started tracking the origin of the e-mail. "As the threat was sent through email Cyber Cell has started tracking the origin of the email including IP address and digital footprints," he said. "A similar threat mail was sent to Ranchi civil court a week ago, which was a hoax," he said....
