PATNA, May 1 -- Within 24 hours of a relative of a senior state BJP leader being killed in a road rage incident, the police shot and arrested the accused in Siwan district after an encounter. Harsh Kumar Singh, 28, nephew of BJP leader and former MLC Manoj Singh, was shot dead by the accused Chotu Yadav near Andar Dhala area on Wednesday evening after a fight over some issue. Harsh Singh's father Chandan Singh, who was present at the spot, also sustained grievous injuries in the attack. The accused, identified as Chhotu Yadav with the help of CCTV footage, was arrested from his house in Hussainganj police station area, the statement said. During interrogation, Yadav told the police that he opened fire in a fit of rage after being rebuked by Harsh Singh and Chandan Singh when his car scraped against their vehicle. Yadav also named three friends who were with him, and raids are underway to nab them. Siwan SP, PK Jha said that while in custody, Yadav tried to flee and the police had to open fire to stop him. Later, the police team took him into custody and sent him to the government hospital for treatment, he added. Meanwhile, BJP spokesman Niraj Kumar said, "The swift action by the Bihar Police is a warning for criminals who should know that Yogi Adityanath's 'operation langda' in adjoining UP shall be carried out here as well."...
