Bihar Police get prestigious President of India's Police Colour honour
PATNA, April 3 -- The Bihar Police has been conferred the prestigious President of India's Police Colour in recognition of its exemplary service, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to duty, officials said on Thursday.
President Droupadi Murmu has approved the conferment of President of India's Police Colour award on Bihar Police, Union home ministry communicated this through a letter to the Bihar chief secretary.
The President of India's Police Colour, also known as the Nishaan, is the highest national honour bestowed upon a state police force, central armed police force, or police training academy in India for exceptional service, bravery, and professionalism.
It is represented by a special flag, worn on the left sleeve of the police uniform.
Bihar police posted on X: "Moment of immense pride as the Bihar Police led by DGP Vinay Kumar has been conferred the President of India's Police Colour to Bihar this year."
"The Bihar police force demonstrated excellence in multiple areas including crime prevention, modern policing techniques, citizen-centric initiatives, effective anti-Maoist operations, adoption of technology and improved training systems.
