Bihar first in GI authorised users in India
BHAGALPUR, March 1 -- Bihar has achieved a historic milestone by securing the first position in India in terms of Geographical Indication (GI) Authorised Users, with a total of 2,059 registered users, the highest in the country.
The state has surpassed Maharashtra, which has 1,764 authorised users, by a margin of 295, firmly establishing its leadership at the national level.
A major share of this achievement has been contributed by the Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour. Out of the total 2,059 authorised users in Bihar, 1,710 users, accounting for about 83%, are associated with BAU....
