In one of the biggest heists in Bihar, armed robbers entered an office of Muthoot Finance in Vaishali district on Saturday and decamped with 55 kg of gold worth Rs 22 crore.

This is the third such loot in Bihar in the last five years from the Kerala-based gold loan firm's offices.

Around 12:30 pm, two of the gang members, posing as customers, entered the Muthoot branch office located in Jagdamba Apartments in Hajipur town and made away with the booty, police said, citing eyewitnesses' accounts. The two allegedly approached bank manager Subodh Kumar and took out arms, threatening him to open fire if the gold was not handed over to them.
