384 projects for flood control get green light
PATNA, April 4 -- The Bihar state flood control council ( BSFCC) has approved 384 flood control projects worth Rs.1,117 crore including Rs.92 crore project for contructing ring bund, drainage channel and pump house to address the water-logging issues at the upcoming AIIMS, Darbhanga.
The decision was taken at the 66th meeting of BSFCC chaired by water resources minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary on Thursday, who directed engineers of the water resources department( WRD) to make spot verification of all embankments and submit a report at the earliest.
The WRD minister also directed that all repair works of embankments should be done in close coordination with the district officials.
In Bihar, the floods continue to be a perennial problem due to overflowing rivers....
