36-yr-old gunned down in Patna
PATNA, Feb. 7 -- One Sunil Kumar (36) of Naubatpur was gunned down by armed assailants in Vikas Vihar colony under Phulwari Sharif police station here on Friday.
City SP (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh said, "Sunil of Naubatpur, had criminal antecedent and he was involved in several cases of loot, dacoity and attempt to murder. It seemed that he was killed in revenge," he added.
"A murder was reported in Ufarpura, Vikas Vihar colony. The SHO of Phulwari Sharif immediately inspected the crime scene, followed by senior officers and an FSL team. Victim Sunil Kumar from Samanpura Dariya, was residing temporarily in Vikas Vihar colony. The shooter arrived on a motorcycle and fired 4-5 rounds. An SIT has been formed, led by the SDPO Phulwari Sharif-1," Singh said.
Locals told the police that Sunil collapsed and died on the spot after being shot. Hearing the gunshot, people gathered nearby, but by then the attackers had fled, they added.
Upon information, police from Phulwari Sharif police station arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and began probe. Police took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. Three empty bullet shells were recovered from the scene....
