Dehradun, May 21 -- Two people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in facilitating cheating through Bluetooth devices used by candidates in the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Lab Attendant and Junior Secretariat Assistant recruitment examinations, police said on Tuesday, adding that 20 people have been arrested so far in the case "The two accused, identified as Vivek Singh (27) of Jind in Haryana, Shri Kant (32) of Rohtak in Haryana, had fixed a deal with several candidates in exchange of Rs.7 lakh to help them pass the exam. In advance, they had taken Rs.1 lakh from each candidate. They also provided the candidates Bluetooth devices to the candidates.," said Manoj Kumar Mainwal , Dalanwala station house officer (SHO). With the latest arrests, the number of people held is 20 in connection with the alleged use of Bluetooth devices to cheat during the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Lab Attendant and Junior Secretariat Assistant recruitment examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The police arrested the candidates using the Bluetooth devices from two different examination centres following a tip-off on May 18, and seized electronic gadgets, answer keys, and mobile phones from them. Senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said, "During interrogation, the arrested candidates revealed that accused had agreed to help candidates pass the examination in exchange for Rs.7 lakh per candidate. An advance payment of Rs.1 lakh was taken from each candidate. Both Vivek Singh and Shri Kant provided candidates with Bluetooth devices through which they were secretly and systematically relaying answers during the entire examination process."
